14th international trade fair opens in Ho Chi Minh City

The 14th international trade fair (Vietnam Expo 2016) opened on Wednesday at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC).

Several countries and territories took part in the fair, including Indonesia, South Korea, Nepal, Chinese Taipei, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa said about the practical meaning of the expo: "Over 520 businesses from 20 countries and territories are participating in the expo, with more than 600 stalls. This year's expo is bigger than previous expos thanks to effective international trade during the last 13 years. The expo is a bridge connecting Vietnamese and international businesses to promote cooperation, trade development, and investment."

Indonesia Honorary country at this year's expo has 60 stalls for the event. A conference on challenges and opportunities in aquaculture hosted by the Indonesian Embassy was held the same day. Eco-friendly technologies, hardware, and handheld tools are being introduced at the expo.
