HANOI, Dec 24 (NNN-VNA) – Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, a 19-year-old university student from central Vietnam’s province of Quang Nam, was crowned Miss Vietnam 2022, after topping a Vietnamese beauty contest last night.
The 1.75-metre-tall girl outperformed 34 other contestants, at the pageant’s final round, held overnight at Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in southern Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City.
Thuy, a student at the University of Foreign Language Studies – the University of Danang, also won the contest’s Miss Sports section and was among top seven of Miss Communications section.
As Miss Vietnam 2022, she won a prize of 350 million Vietnamese dong (around 14,800 U.S. dollars) and a crown, among others.
Miss Vietnam has been held biennially since 1988, by Vietnamese daily newspaper, Tien Phong (Pioneer), promoting beauty, knowledge and kindness. After 34 years with 17 editions, Miss Vietnam has emerged as the country’s most prestigious national beauty contest.
