2018 National Sport Festival for Athletes with Physical Disabilities begins

More than 1,300 atheletes will compete at this year's National Sport Festival for Athletes with Physical Disabilities, which opened Monday in Da Nang.

The top atheletes at the festival will qualify for the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia. Le Van Cong of Ho Chi Minh City was the first Vietnamese athlete to win a gold medal at the Paralympics. He set a world record in weightlifting at Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Athletes from 29 provinces and cities will compete in 9 categories: athletics, swimming, table tennis, chess, boccia, tennis, judo, badminton, and weightlifting.
