42nd Pacific Armies Management Seminar concludes

The 42nd Pacific Armies Management Seminar (PAMS 42) wrapped up in Hanoi on Thursday.

The four-day event, themed Cooperation among Indo-Asian Pacific Land Forces in Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Response was co-hosted by the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and the US Army Pacific Command (USARPAC).Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the VPA Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, said discussions during the seminar highlighted the fact that the region is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, storms and floods every year, and underlined the important role of armies, especially land forces, in responding to emergency circumstances when a disaster occurs.He said he believes that the contents discussed will help land forces to build effective response plans. The next PAMS will be held in Thailand.
