Vietnam confirmed 5,149 local COVID-19 cases in 29 localities Tuesday night, raising the day’s tally to 7,913.

Of the new patients, Ho Chi Minh city reported 4,469, the highest number.

The remaining cases were recorded in Dong Nai (120), Long An (75), and Binh Duong (79); the Mekong Delta’s Dong Thap (154), Can Tho (54), Soc Trang (22), Hau Giang (3), Kien Giang (2) and Bac Lieu (1); the central region’s Binh Thuan (45), Da Nang (26), Phu Yen (23), Ninh Thuan (13), Gia Lai (5), Dak Nong (5), Binh Dinh (4), Thue Thien Hue (4), Quang Nam (3), Quang Ngai (3), Kon Tum (2), Thanh Hoa (1), Ha Tinh (1), Lam Dong (1) and Dak Lak (1); Hanoi (19) and the northern provinces of Vinh Phuc (11), Lang Son (2) and Thai Nguyen (1).

Vietnam has so far detected 114,260 cases including 22,946 recoveries.
