ABIS facilitates global integration by ASEAN enterprises
Some 1,000 enterprises from ASEAN members and partners attended the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2018 in Singapore on Monday and Tuesday.
The event, revolving around the theme Building Tomorrow, Connecting Today, is part of the ongoing 33rd ASEAN Summit, from Sunday to Thursday.
ABIS 2018 focused on the initiatives of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, including cooperation in connecting the region's smart cities; dialogues between leaders to promote policies that link businesses and facilitate enterprise integration; and cooperation with major partners like the US, Australia, India, Japan, China, and the Republic of Korea.
Leading some 80 Vietnamese firms, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Doan Duy Khuong said that Vietnam has a number of initiatives which support businesses, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The VCCI picked several firms to join the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and vowed to help SMEs find markets and choose appropriate financial tools.
