ADB supports Vietnam to develop green urban areas

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Provincial People's Committees of Ha Giang, Vinh Phuc and Thua Thien-Hue signed agreements to deploy a project to support the localities in developing towards green and resilient urban areas.

Totaling more than 223 million dollars, the Secondary Green Cities Development Project will support environmentally sustainable and inclusive development in the provincial capital cities of Ha Giang, Vinh Yen and Hue in order to enhance their economic competitiveness. The total project investment includes US$3 million in grant financing from the Global Environment Facility and 3 million USD from the Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund, which is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and the Governments of Switzerland and the UK.
