Agencies enhance cooperation for worker protection

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry have agreed to set up a cooperation mechanism for handling issues that impact workers and businesses toward building more harmonious and stable industrial relations.

At a signing ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday attended by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, the three agencies endorsed new policies regarding the rights, duties, and legitimate interests of workers.

Hoang Quang Phong, the VCCI Deputy Chairman, said: VCCI and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will continue to collaborate. We will work with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to complete a national three-way mechanism to address issues relating to industrial relations and restrict illegal strikes. We will cooperate on overseeing salary policy, social insurance, medical insurance, and working conditions in several types of businesses across the country.
