All disadvantaged hamlets to be connected to national power grid by 2020

The 14th National Assembly continued on Wednesday with the Q and A session with the Chief Judge of the Supreme People's Court, the head of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and cabinet members.

Lawmakers focused their questions on the implementation of the legislature's resolutions on thematic supervision and hearing sessions from the beginning of the tenure to the fourth meeting of the parliament.

Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said the State has been focusing on national resources to invest in the power grid to supply power to for people in rural mountain, and island areas.

According to Minister Tuan Anh, As scheduled, next year Vietnam Electricity will arrange capital to invest in the 180 most disadvantaged hamlets of 233 hamlets unconnected to the national power grid. By 2020, all disadvantaged hamlets in Vietnam will be supplied with power through programs financed by the state budget and ODA resources sponsored by international financial organizations.

Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung spoke of breakthrough measures in vocational training for rural workers.

He said: It's necessary to combine training, agricultural restructuring, and high-tech agricultural production to create breakthroughs. In addition, it's essential to implement six solutions set by the government to link vocational training and enterprises, mobilize businesses to help forecast and identify the training type and training scale needed to meet labor market demand. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs will jointly organize a national conference on rural workers this December.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha talked about inspection and protection of the environment. Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien answered questions about preserving historical relics and developing tourism in Vietnam.

During the first day of the Q and A session on Tuesday, 36 deputies posed questions and 23 others joined the discussions with the Chief Judge, the Procutor General, and 15 ministers.
