Anti-graft campaigner wins Slovak presidential election first round

Anti-corruption campaigner Zuzana Caputova led Slovakia's presidential election first round with 38.9 percent of votes after results from a fifth of polling stations were counted, statistics office data showed on Saturday.

The ruling Smer party's candidate, European Commissioner Maros Sefcovic, was second with 18.9 percent. As no candidate won more than 50%, a second-round run-off will be held on March 30.

More than 4.4 million Slovaks cast their votes for their next president on Saturday.
