British PM to resign after Brexit

British Prime Minister Theresa May told Conservative MPs on Wednesday that she will step down as Prime Minister if her twice-defeated Brexit deal is passed in Parliament.

Ms. May said in a closed-door meeting that she is prepared to leave her job early in order to secure a smooth and orderly Brexit. According to Reuters, she said she is aware of a desire for a new leadership in the second phase of the Brexit negotiations and won't stand in the way of that.

MPs voted against all 8 Brexit options, including a no-deal Brexit, an EU taxation alliance, and a new common market, and then voted 441-105 for another Brexit delay.
