Buddha’s birthday marked in Czech Republic

400 Vietnamese Buddhist followers attended a ceremony in Prague on Sunday to mark Lord Buddha's birthday.

Among the attendees were representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, and the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic. The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's Patriarch was delivered, calling on Buddhists to honor their responsibility to develop the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha as Vietnam integrates globally. The highlight of the ceremony was a procession and bathing of Buddha.

Today I came to offer incense to Buddha. I always ask myself to live with love and ethics and teach my children and grandchildren that they should sacrifice for others so that their offspring will be blessed, said Nguyen Thu Ngoc, a Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic.
