Cambodian People’s Party marks founding anniversary

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) held a ceremony on Koh Pich island in Phnom Penh on Wednesday to mark the 66th anniversary of its founding on June 28. The event brought together 2,000 CPP members from Phnom Penh and neighboring provinces.

In his remarks, CPP President Samdech Hun Sen said the CPP stands side by side with the Cambodian people in all circumstances and strives to overcome all obstacles for a Cambodia of independence, peace, freedom, democracy, neutrality, and social development. Hun Sen also talked about the CPP's victory in the communal elections which took place earlier this month, which, he said, validated the Party's role in protecting peace, political stability, and development in Cambodia. He called on Party members to live harmoniously in accordance with Cambodia's Constitution.
