China Coast Guard ship visits Hai Phong city

A Chinese Coast Guard ship with 101 officers and crewmembers docked at Chua Ve port in the north-eastern city of Hai Phong on Thursday, starting a four-day visit to the city.

The visit aims to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the armies of Vietnam and China in general and their coast guards in particular. This is the first trip to Vietnam by a Chinese Coast Guard ship as part of a cooperation program signed between the coast guard forces.

During their visit, Chinese officers and crewmembers will pay a courtesy call on leaders of the Hai Phong People's Committee, hold talks with Vietnam's Coast Guard and participate in sporting activities with Vietnamese soldiers of the Coast Guard Region 1. They will also visit tourist sites in Hai Phong city and the UNESCO-recognised Ha Long Bay.
