China, Philippines to elevate relationship to comprehensive strategic cooperation
China and the Philippines have agreed to elevate their relationship to a comprehensive strategic cooperation.
The announcement followed Tuesday's meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte during Mr. Xi's visit to the Philippines.
Mr. Duterte said the two leaders discussed increasing trade and investment, and China's involvement in his signature Build, Build, Build infrastructure program in the Philippines. Earlier, the two leaders witnessed the signing of 29 cooperation agreements on education, culture, industrial park development, infrastructure, and agricultural cooperatives.
