China prioritizes its relations with ASEAN In 2015

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang told a regular press conference on Wednesday that the Chinese government always regards ASEAN as being the priority in its neighborhood diplomacy.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN, and is also the year of China-ASEAN tourist cooperation, presenting opportunities for the two sides to strengthen their relationship. The spokesperson said China would work with ASEAN to enhance communication on policies, alignments of strategies and practical cooperation, deepen all-around cooperation covering trade, connectivity and production capacity, fully implement the 3rd Five-year Action Plan, and realize the agreements of the upgraded China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. He said China stands ready to offer its support to the Philippines in executing its role as the ASEAN rotating chair and elevating Chinese-ASEAN relations to new heights.
