Chinese veterans and families of fallen soldiers visit Vietnam

PANO � Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, hosted a reception on April 25 in Hanoi for a delegation of Chinese veterans and families of fallen soldiers who had joined the Vietnamese in the anti-American war, on the occasion of their visit to Vietnam.

Welcoming the Chinese delegation, General Van recalled the wholehearted and effective supports of international friends, especially the material and spiritual assistance from Chinese people and those from socialist countries, for the Vietnamese people's war for national independence and freedom.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, people, and military are always grateful to China's great support and hoped that the Chinese delegation will have a wonderful time in Vietnam.

At the reception, Chinese veterans and families of fallen soldiers expressed delight at the strong socio-economic development of Vietnam. They also recalled the time when they stood side by side the Vietnamese people and military to drive foreign invaders out of the country.

They hoped that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people and military would obtain more achievements in the national construction and defense cause
