Confidence votes motivate cabinet members to work better: PM
Chairing the government meeting for October in Hanoi on Saturday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the results of the National Assembly's votes of confidence will motivate cabinet members to work better and hold higher responsibilities for the Assembly and the people. He added cabinet members all received higher confidence votes than in the previous voting.
Commenting on socio-economic performance over the past 10 months, PM Phuc described the domestic situation as positive with continued stable macro-economy despite global uncertainty. The average Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 10 months was 3.6%, basic inflation rose 1.43%, and foreign exchange rates were stable. Over the past 10 months, exports reached 200 billion USD, almost equivalent to the figure of the whole year 2017 with an export surplus of 6.4 billion USD. Agricultural produce contributed a great deal to the good performance.
PM pointed difficulties facing businesses, which he said may affect growth momentum of localities and the country. He called on localities, particularly five major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Hai Phong, and Da Nang to improve the business environment to provide greater growth momentum.
