Countries seek solutions to Libya conflict

Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry and Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi discussed in Tunisia on Monday the latest developments in Libya and efforts to reach a political resolution to Libya's civil conflict.

Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the discussions covered Egyptian efforts to unify various Libyan military factions, adding that the move is supported by all active Libyan sides, as well as regional and global partners.

Shoukry expressed gratitude to the Tunisian president for his role in establishing the tripartite ministerial initiative by Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria to address the situation in Libya.
