Covid-19 cases total 6.15 million globally

 

 Covid-19 cases now total more than 6.15 million globally, with deaths exceeding 370,870, and the number of recovering cases is more than 2.7 million cases, according to worldometers.info on Sunday.

The US remains the worst-hit country with the highest number of infections and deaths, with more than 1.8 million and 105,557 cases, respectively. With more than 38,370 deaths, the UK has the second highest number of Covid-19 deaths, while Brazil has the second highest number of infected people in the world with 498,440 cases.

In Latin America, the Mexican Ministry of Health reported the number of infected cases has reached 87,512 people, including 9,779 deaths. Meanwhile, the total number of infections in Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador has reached 25,953 cases, with 673 deaths.
In Europe, in the past 24 hours, Italy recorded an additional 416 cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 232,664 cases, while the number of deaths was 33,340 cases (up 111 cases).

In the Middle East and Africa, Qatar’s Ministry of Health announced an additional 2,355 new infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 55,262. In Egypt, the Ministry of Health said it had recorded 1,367 new infections, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 23,449 cases and 913 deaths. Meanwhile, South Africa recorded an additional 1,727 new infections, bringing the total number of cases to 30,967 cases, including 643 deaths.
