Da Nang, Transportation Ministry lead in administrative reforms

VGP – The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that Da Nang and the Ministry of Transportation (MOT) topped the Public Administrative Reform Index 2013 (PAR INDEX 2013) at ministerial and provincial level at a conference on September 5.

The MOT topped the ministry-level category  reaching 81.06% of the score of 100, followed by the State Bank of Viet Nam (80.38%) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (80.31%). The Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs came last in the list with 66.71%.

Meanwhile, Da Nang city continued to take the lead with 87.02%, 9.46% higher than the average level nationwide and 1.48 times more than the result earned by Son La province, the locality standing last in the list.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged ministries, provinces and cities to take specific measures to improve their index in the future.

He also asked the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) to continue follow-up activities to draw experience and make necessary adjustments to improve the PAR INDEX.

According to the MOHA, PAR INDEX is a new managing tool in realizing the Master Plan on State Administrative Reform in the 2011-2020 period. The index ensures a scientific and systematic tracking and evaluation of people, organizations and businesses to administrative reform performance of 19 ministries and ministry-level agencies and 63 localities.
