Dak Nong hosts first Vietnam Brocade Culture Festival
The first Vietnam Brocade Culture Festival opened in Dak Nong province on Wednesday to preserve and promote the traditional crafts and costumes of ethnic minority groups.
The 3-day event will introduce the culture and tourism potential of Dak Nong to visitors.
An exhibition of brocade products and cuisine, a seminar on Vietnamese brocade culture, a street festival, and a brocade fashion show will be held.
Addressing a local press conference on Tuesday, Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Deputy Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee, said: The festival is part of provincial efforts to revive and preserve the traditional culture. We'll look for ways to apply traditional brocade patterns to modern fashion so that designers can make clothes that will be accepted by consumers. We want to combine economic development with preservation of local traditions.
A Dak Nong investment promotion conference will announce investment decisions and deliver business licenses representing a total capital of more than 4.3 billion USD.
