Deputy PM attends tribute ceremony for Thanh Hoa’s national contributors

A conference was held in the central province of Thanh Hoa on July 25 to honour outstanding national contributors and active collectives and individuals in the gratitude movement across the province, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers Day (July 27, 1947-2017).

The event was attended by Deputy PM and FM Pham Binh Minh, together with 170 delegates representing the province's heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids, martyrs' families and national contributors.

In his speech, Politburo member Minh extended his regards and tribute to revolutionary war veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, people with the Hero of the People's Armed Forces title, those with the Hero of Labour title, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and families dedicated to the revolution, in Thanh Hoa province.

He paid homage to revolutionary veterans and heroic martyrs who devoted their whole life for national independence, freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the happiness of the people.

Throughout thousands of years of national construction and defence, the Vietnamese people united together and bravely fought foreign invaders to safeguard the national independence and freedom. In that glorious historical process, Thanh Hoa people have joined compatriots across the country to write glorious historical pages and foster the patriotic tradition and a resilient revolutionary spirit, contributing to creating a sacred land of extraordinary people, the deputy PM noted.

He expressed his belief that the Thanh Hoa Party organization, authorities, armed forces and people would continue promoting their revolutionary tradition, striving to develop the province into a model province as advised by Uncle Ho.

At the conference, Thanh Hoa leaders presented 170 gifts, in addition to certificates of merit from the chairperson of the provincial People's Committee, to 170 individuals and 25 collectives, who have actively been engaged in the gratitude movement in the province.
