Deputy PM receives Timor Leste Ambassador

Deputy PM and FM Pham Binh Minh received Timor Leste Ambassador to Viet Nam Pascoela Barreto dos Santos in Ha Noi on August 15.

At the reception, the Timor Leste ambassador expressed her delight at witnessing expansive, practical and effective bilateral ties in diverse areas, especially in telecommunications.

The ambassdor pledged to do her best to further enhance relations between Viet Nam and TimorLeste.

In turn, Deputy PM and FM Pham Binh Minh said Viet Nam always works closely with Timor Leste to foster bilateral ties for the sake of peace, stability and prosperity in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Minh congratulated Timor Leste on successfully holding the presidential election in March 2017 and the parliamentary election for the 2017-2022 tenure in July 2017.

The Deputy and FM thanked the Timor Leste government for creating favourable conditions for the State-run military telecom provider Viettel and Vietnamese citizens living in the country over the past years.

The host asked the ambassador to actively liaison with the two countries' agencies to make it easier for Vietnamese businesses to invest in oil and gas and agriculture in Timor Leste.
