Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung attends Congress of Vietnam Urban Association

On Sunday, the Vietnam Urban Association held its 4th Congress for the 2016-2020 term. Addressing the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung praised the Association's development and its contributions to urban development in Vietnam.

He stressed the need to mobilize resources to create breakthroughs in infrastructure development, especially transport infrastructure in major urban areas, and restructure the urban economy to meet the demands of industrial production and services. Mr. Dung said: "It's necessary to tighten the control of urban planning to promote a synchronous, modern, and environmentally friendly urban system. We need to step by step address the urban concentralization problem, bring into play the role of urban and promote the urban civilized lifestyle. We also need to enhance our forecast capacity to evaluate the global urban development".
