Directive on prevention of child abuse, violence issued

The PM has issued a Directive requesting ministries, agencies and localities to enhance measures to prevent child violence and abuse.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs urges and inspects other ministries, agencies and localities in realizing the Party's guidelines and State's policies and laws on child protection. It reviews and supplements legal regulations on child protection.

The Ministry of Public Security accelerates the treatment of child abuse and violence cases and improve the capacity and skills for policemen at all levels in investigating and addressing child abuse incidents.

The PM asks the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuracy to direct the People's Court and People's Procuracy at provinces and cities to handle child abuse and violence cases.

The Ministry of Education and Training guides education centers and schools to launch measures to protect children, promote communications on gender education and child abuse and violence prevention for teachers and students and actively provide information on child abuse cases for authorized agencies.

The Ministry of Health directs treatment centers to give priority to children suffered from violence and abuse and enhance the capacity and skills for health workers in health care and counseling for abused children.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communications and press agencies help popularize knowledge and skills on child protection for families and condemn child abuse and violence cases.
