Dozens killed in air strikes on north Syria mosque

At least 42 people were killed and dozens more wounded on Thursday in air strikes on a village mosque in northern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britain-based Observatory, said the raids by unidentified warplanes targeted a mosque, just over 30 kilometers west of Aleppo, during evening prayers.

He said more than 100 people were wounded and many were still trapped under the collapsed mosque. The village is held by rebel and Islamist groups.
