Drug Trafficking Incident Uncovered After Vehicle Abandonment in Lop Buri Province.

Lop Buri: The perpetrators transported 1.6 million pills of drugs, had a flat tire, and abandoned the vehicle to escape. In a significant bust, authorities discovered a substantial drug haul after a pickup truck carrying methamphetamine pills skidded off the road and was abandoned by its occupants on Highway 3333, Khok Tum-Manao Wan route, in the Lop Buri Province. The vehicle was found with a Saraburi license plate, wedged into an embankment near a drainage ditch with a broken front left tire and a damaged windshield. According to Thai News Agency, the abandoned truck contained eight sacks of methamphetamine, with three sacks in the back covered by a tarpaulin and five more tightly packed inside the cabin. The total haul is estimated to contain 1.6 million methamphetamine pills, valued at over 10 million baht. The driver reportedly fled into a nearby cornfield, prompting officers to conduct a two-hour search, but he remains at large. Further investigation revealed a mobile phone inside the vehicle, and the license plate was found to belong to a different vehicle. Authorities have identified the registered owner as a resident of Phitsanulok Province and plan to question him. The incident is believed to be part of a drug-smuggling operation transporting drugs from the North to store in the Central region, utilizing small community routes under the cover of night. The Lopburi Forensic Science Office has been called in to examine fingerprints and verify the total number of methamphetamine pills.
