Egypt, UN support peace efforts in Libya

Egypt's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy and UN special representative in Libya Martin Kobler met to discuss a path to peace, Egypt's army said in a statement on Sunday.

The meeting in Cairo reviewed recent meetings of a national dialogue committee created to bridge differences between rival factions in Libya. Egypt and the UN lauded the results of a meeting of the UN, the EU, the Arab League, and the African Union held Saturday in Cairo. Kobler called for continuing regional and global efforts to resolve the 6-year conflict in Libya.
