Ethiopia declares three-day mourning for victims of landslide

The Ethiopian parliament on Tuesday declared a three-day national mourning for the citizens who lost their lives in a massive garbage dump landslide on the outskirts of Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa. The death toll has risen to 72 victims, many of them women and children. Ethiopia's government spokesperson Negeri Lencho said searching and rescue operations continue.

A municipal landfill called "Koshe" is home to a number of Addis Ababa residents who have been victims of a number of landslides over the years. 150 people were at the site when the landslide occurred.
