EU Commission leaves open possibility of Brexit talks

The European Commission is willing to discuss Brexit with Britain over the coming weeks, a spokesperson said on Tuesday, adding that the bloc's executive is hoping to avoid a no-deal exit but the EU is prepared for such an outcome.

The spokesperson noted that the agreement reached between the EU and Theresa May was the best possible and could not be re-negotiated.

An UK government's spokesperson said London wants to negotiate a new deal with the EU, which will allow the UK maintain its open border with Ireland. The UK government hopes the EU could change their viewpoint to reach the deal. In case no deal is reached, Britain will surely leave the EU by Oct, 31.
