– The EU has delivered enough COVID-19 vaccine doses to fully vaccinate at least 70% of adults, according to European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen. She said that as of Sunday, the EU had received 500 million doses.

The EU has set a target of vaccinating all its eligible citizens and achieving community immunity by September.

Ms. von der Leyen said the EU needs to step up vaccination and find new vaccines to prevent new COVID-19 variants.
