Disbursement of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam this year is estimated at 22.4 billion USD, the highest in the past five years, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

The GSO also said that Vietnam has attracted more than 27 billion USD since the beginning of the year. Singapore was the largest investors in 2022 with nearly 6.5 billion USD, followed by South Korea, and Japan.

Foreign investors have invested in 19 national economic sectors, of which the processing and manufacturing industry took the lead.

Ho Chi Minh City attracted the largest amount of FDI this year. Binh Duong province came second and Quang Ninh province third.
