Ha Nam province held a ceremony on Friday to receive a certificate recognizing Tran Thuong Temple festival and Saint Tran's food distributing festival as national intangible cultural heritages. Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, local leaders and people attended the event. Located in Nhan Dao Commune, Ly Nhan District, Ha Nam Province, Tran Thuong Temple is dedicated to Tran Quoc Tuan, a supreme commander of the country during the Tran Dynasty, who selected the location as a food store for his army to defeat Mongol invaders in the 13th century.

A seal-stamp opening ceremony at Tran temple in the northern province of Nam Dinh took place on Friday. Party, State and local leaders as well as representatives of the Tran family clan offered incense in commemoration of ancestors. Mayor of Nam Dinh City, Le Quoc Chinh, in his speech praised the festival's significance in a hope of peace and prosperity, national development and productivity.

The ceremony involved the re-enactment of a custom dating back to the Tran dynasty, where a seal parade moved from Co Trach Temple to Thien Truong Temple followed by a seal opening ceremony. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu is a visitor from Ninh Binh province: "I pray for my family's good health, a bumper crop and good school performance for my kids, then I feel tranquility in my mind. This is a special traditional ceremony so that younger generation could learn from their ancestors' national defense traditions."
