First locality rakes in over US$30 bln in export turnover

VGP – Ho Chi Minh City has become the first locality to achieve an export turnover of more than US$30 billion in 2014.

According to statistics provided by the Viet Nam Customs, the city’s total export- import turnover reached nearly US$62.2 billion in 2014, the highest among 63 cities and provinces nationwide.

The city earned US$31.352 billion from exports, showing US$1.864 billion higher than in 2013, and   accounting for 21% of the nation’s total export turnover (US$150.186 billion).  

As many as 23 out of 63 provinces and cities gained more than US$1 billion from exports in 2014.

The northern province of Bac Ninh ranked second with an export turnover of US$21.074 billion.

Thai Nguyen Province witnessed a sharp increase in export in 2014, earning US$7.927 billion, US$7.681 billion higher than the previous year.
