The first session of the 15th National Assembly will open next Tuesday and run through the end of this month, the NA office announced at a press briefing on Saturday. Legislators will elect the NA Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons, members of the NA Standing Committee, the NA Secretary General, the Chairperson of the NA Ethnic Council, heads of NA committees, and State Auditor General.

They will also elect the State President, the Prime Minister, the Vice State President, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy.

The NA Chairman, State President, PM and Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court will take the oath during the session.

Lawmakers will discuss the Government’s reports on socio-economic development and state budget in the first half of this year and how to realise relevant plans in the second half, among others.

They will also consider and decide on the 5-year socio-economic development plan until 2025, the national 5-year financial plan till 2025, and approve the NA’s resolutions on the law and ordinance building program for 2022.
