First session of new NA opens

(VOVWORLD) – The first session of the 15th National Assembly opened in Hanoi on Monday morning and its success, according to NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, will create momentum for legislative activities in this tenure.

Mr. Hue said the session will hear a report reviewing the May 23 National Assembly and People’s Councils elections, make decisions regarding personnel structure, and elect high-ranking positions in the State apparatus.

Deputies will consider reports on implementation of Vietnam’s socio-economic development plan and State budget in the first half of this year and solutions for the remaining months, set national targets for new-style rural area building and sustainable poverty reduction until 2025, and adopt resolutions on the law and ordinance building program for next year.

“The National Assembly deputies should consider the trust and expectations of the voters as well as the unprecedented difficulties, challenges, advantages, and opportunities that lie before Vietnam. We should listen to and respect the people’s opinions and exercise our capabilities and creativity to improve the National Assembly’s performance and adopt wise and timely policies,” said Chairman Hue.
