First Vietnamese entrepreneur listed in “The Bloomberg 50”

Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, CEO of Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Air, has become the first Vietnamese to be enlisted in The Bloomberg 50 in 2018.

Ms. Thao is also Vice Chairwoman of HDBank's Board of Directors and the second richest person in Vietnam's stock market. She has recently secured the 44th place in Forbes magazine's 2018 list of the 100 most powerful women, up 11 spots against last year.

The Bloomberg 50, which is annually complied by world leading business and financial news brand Bloomberg, recognizes those with noteworthy accomplishments in business, entertainment, finance, politics, and technology and science. This year's honorees also include US Federal Reserve (FED) Chairman Jerome Powell, Microsoft's Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood, and Ben Van Beurden, CEO of Royal Dutch Shell, a British-Dutch oil and gas company.
