Sinh Ton island commune hospital of Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province on Monday night successfully performed a surgery for patient Tran Nguyen Hoang Nhien with acute appendicitis.

At 6.10 pm the same day, Nhien suffering abdominal pain was brought to Sinh Ton island.

Through examination and consultation with the Institute of Naval Medicine, Sinh Ton Island Hospital diagnosed him with acute appendicitis.

Nhien is a fisherman whose fishing boat departed on March 21 and operated in the Truong Sa traditional fishing grounds, with 15 workers on board.
