German newspaper: Russian economy on the rise despite sanctions

Despite sanctions and a drop in oil prices, the economy of Russia has grown, German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) noted.

According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), the Russian economy grew 2.5 percent in the second quarter of this year, the highest rate since 2012 thanks to a growth in construction and industry. Economists say the growth proves Russia's economic stability, adding that Russian trade is trending positively despite a decrease in the agriculture sector.
