Germany: President of Bundestag calls for new government establishment

Former German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble on Saturday urged Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives and Social Democrats to quickly form a new government.

Being the President of Bundestag, German Parliament, he said a stable alliance between the Union and the SPD will be preferable, adding that the chancellor could still form a minority government.

Schaeuble said coalition talks should be completed sooner rather than later, noting that the Bundestag will not be fully capable of action unless a new government is formed.
