Gov’t issues resolution on September meeting

Under the newly-approved resolution, socio-economic performance progressed positively in which GDP growth pace in Q3 was estimated at 6.4%. However, the economic competitiveness and labor productivity have yet improved significantly. Overseas shipment of key products encountered with difficulties especially minerals and industrial and processing products.

To fulfill the preset goals for 2016, the Government tasked ministries, agencies, and localities to resolve difficulties, spur production, and promote business start-up movement.

Preparing for socio-economic development plan for 2017

The Government asked ministries and ministerial-level agencies to promptly build action plans to implement the 2017 socio-economic development plan with specific challenges, reasonable analysis, and feasible solutions.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment was assigned to work with the Ministry of Finance, relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to craft a Government draft resolution on key tasks and solutions to implement socio-economic development plan and State budget estimate in 2017.

Striving for lower lending interest rates

In the rest of 2016, the Government tasked the State Bank of Viet Nam to combine monetary and fiscal policies to stabilize the macro-economic performance; control inflation; and cut lending interest rates.

The Ministry of Finance shall work with other ministries, agencies, and localities to implement budget restructuring; ensure sustainable public debts; and prevent wastefulness.

Ministries, agencies, localitieis, SOEs were tasked to accelerate the restructuring of SOEs, especially capital withdrawal process and equitization.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade was assigned to take action to boost export and control trade gap; optimize domestic potentials; speed up consumption of coal, billet steel, fertilizers, papers, cement, and report inventory levels.

Reviewing large-scale discharging

The Government tasks the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Labour and Social Invalids, Provincial People Committees of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue to implement the compensation plan for the mass fish deaths.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was asked to inspect waste water discharge to rivers and sea to prevent possible environmental incidents.

The Ministry of Health was assigned to keep a close watch on diseases and prepare for dengue fever and Zika virus.
