– The Haitian government wants to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, especially in agriculture, fisheries and livestock, said Deputy Foreign Minister Azad Pierre Nasser Belfort. Belfort, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, met Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc in Hanoi on Wednesday.
Both diplomats agreed on a number of measures to promote bilateral relations and support each other at international organizations and forums. They agreed to support and create favorable conditions for NATCOM SA, the telecommunications joint venture between the two countries to operate effectively and contribute to Haiti’s stability and development.
Ngoc suggested the Haitian side to coordinate to promote bilateral exchanges and contact and effectively bring into play the mechanism of the Vietnam-Haiti joint committee on economic cooperation, trade and investment. He called for connecting businesses of the two sides and seeking possible cooperation areas on the basis of the potential and strengths of each country for mutual benefits.
