Hanoi International Film Festival opens

More than 1,000 artists and film makers are attending the fourth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF), which opened Tuesday in Hanoi.

The five-day festival will feature 146 films from 43 countries and territories including the US, Britain, France, India, and Japan. Vietnam will introduce two feature films: "I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass" and "Jackpot" and 10 short films. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said: "The film festival is a place for Vietnamese and foreign film makers to share their experience in the film industry and a chance for us to promote the image of Hanoi to foreign friends".

The festival includes programs called "The World's Cinema Today", and "Spotlight on the Indian film industry", ASEAN films, and contemporary Vietnamese films.
