Hanoi launches COVID-19 map

Hanoi’s Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Department of Health officially launched a COVID-19 map on June 11 to facilitate the capital’s prevention and control measures. Citizen can search for and be updated on COVID-19-related issues in Hanoi on their smartphone or computer connected to the internet. The map can be found at https://covidmaps.hanoi.gov.vn.

The system also analyses density and provides statistics and information on testing venues, concentrated quarantine centers, blockaded areas, and medical facilities, among others.

According to Director of the Hanoi Information and Communications Department Nguyen Thanh Liem, the data is provided by Hanoi’s Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), the Department of Health, and updated constantly.

He hoped that the map will be an effective tool for local residents and competent authorities in the fight against COVID-19.

Liem also informed, in the second phase, his agency will cooperate with the Department of Health and the CDC to upgrade and add new functions to the map, such as reports confirming COVID-19 infections within sites pinpointed on the map, localities collecting samples, and suitable travel routes to avoid high-risk areas.
