Hanoi is ranked first on Tripzilla’s list of the safest places for solo female travelers in Southeast Asia.

Tripzilla, Southeast Asia’s leading online travel site said that “Vietnam’s capital is generally a safe place for travelers” and “most locals are friendly.”

Tripzilla’s experts suggested tourists explore Hanoi’s St. Joseph Cathedral, the Temple of Literature, and Ngoc Son Temple, and stop by one of the best cafes in the city to relax and enjoy authentic Vietnamese coffee.

Hanoi is also a budget-friendly destination, especially for solo travelers, according to the travel site. A stay in a Hanoi luxury hotel can cost as little as S$200, and meals cost around S$14 per day.

Four other names on Tripzilla’s list are Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand), Yogyakarta (Indonesia), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
