Higher education to be renovated for national development, international integration
National Assembly deputies on Wednesday listened to a Government proposal on a draft law amending the 2012 Higher Education Law.
According to the Education and Training Minister's proposal, higher education needs a better legal environment to keep up with changes in science, technology, culture, politics, and economics.
Minister Phung Xuan Nha said the aim of renovating higher education is to develop qualified human resources to meet the demands of national socio-economic development, national defense and security, and international integration.
Minister Nha said: The law revision aims to institutionalize the Party and State's viewpoint on conducting fundamental and comprehensive reform of higher education, capitalize on achievements, and overcome arising problems. It's necessary to improve the legal framework on higher education to mobilize all resources for the development of higher education, renovate state management, tertiary governance, and training management in conformity with international standards, and create conditions for educational facilities to compete fairly.
