Hundreds of civilians rescued from Islamic State

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have rescued 125 civilians from the Islamic State in Raqqa, Syria.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have rescued 125 civilians from the Islamic State in Raqqa, Syria. During SDF operations in the Nazlet Shuhadah neighborhood, two civilians and two SDF members were wounded.

Raqqa has been under the control of ISIS since 2013. An operation to liberate Raqqa was launched by the SDF, backed by the US-led international coalition, in early June.
