Hundreds of illegal immigrants arrested in US

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Saturday arrested hundreds of illegal immigrants in at least 6 states, the first under President Donald Trump.

The immigration officials have raided homes and workplaces in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina, arresting hundreds of undocumented people.

The spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security said this is part of a routine action, adding that 75% of the arrested immigrants are felony convictions, some sentenced for killing people, who are a threat to public security and immigration program.
