Hurricane Dorian stalls over Bahamas causing catastrophic damage

Dorian, one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes on record, has killed at least 5 people, including an 8-year-old boy.

The hurricane has been hovering over Grand Bahama Island for more than a day with winds gusting to 180km/h. Abaco and Grand Bahama island have been the most seriously damaged due to many flimsy shelters.

On Monday, the White House declared a state of emergency in Georgia. Georgia's Governor Brian Kemp said residents have been ordered to evacuate by noon from Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Glynn, Liberty, and McIntosh Counties. Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina are also in a state of emergency.
